Our signature drink:  "The Prickly Pair"

We read about the concept of having a "signature drink" in one of the wedding books we bought while planning our wedding.  We liked the idea, so Dave set about to create one.  Dave felt that a frozen lemonade would go well in the middle of August, but we had no idea how many people would want to drink that, as opposed to beer, wine, soda, other cocktails, etc.  As it turns out, it was hugely popular.  The 5-gallon slushie machine we rented was depleted 2/3 of the way through cocktail hour.  The Windemere had thoughtfully bought extras of all the ingredients, so we gave the go-ahead for another batch.

By popular demand, here is the recipe:  (makes 32 oz.)

Fill a blender with ice up to the 24 oz. mark.  Add:

  • 1.5 oz. Bacardi Razz (raspberry rum)
  • 1.5 oz. Triple Sec
  • 1.5 oz. Amaretto
  • 1.5 oz. Prickly Pear margarita mix
  • 6 oz. frozen lemonade concentrate (1/2 can)

Blend until the mixture has an even drinkable consistency.  You may need to add a small amount of water.  If the drink has a slightly tart taste from the lemonade concentrate, add a small amount of sugar or artificial sweetener.
